It’s one week until the finale of VH1’s Sober House and there’s lots to talk about. First up, Mary Carey, the former porn star/now stripper finally got rid of her manager/boyfriend, David Weintraub. Dude wouldn’t stop drinking and finally got Mary to the end of her rope when he booked her for something called Swingfest, in which she was supposed to host the show.

She lived up to her end of the bargain, hosting the show reluctantly, but David paraded her around like he was exploiting her or something, looking like a redneck pimp. LOL He kept slapping her on the ass, as if she liked it or whatever.

Look, David, here’s the deal: your girl ran for Governor of California and finished a respectable 10th. Therefore, she’s not some idiot like you think she is. Anyway, I just thought I would throw that out there for him, since he’s too stupid to get it. He just thinks that because she was a porn star, she doesn’t get life.

So that was good. Another good thing is that instead of going back to Texas when the going got rough, American Idol’s Nikki McKibbin stayed at the sober house and performed her single about her late mother at a local coffeehouse.

And Andy Dick is on the mend, making amends to all the friends he screwed along the way. It sounds like a pretty long list so I will leave that out. Rodney King returned to his house, looking at it like it didn’t exist–or that he didn’t want it to exist–now that he’s sober.

Others haven’t been as fortunate, but they’re fighting it. Seth “Shifty” Binzer had a heart attack–although he doesn’t call it that–and now he’s sobered up, probably out of fear. Steven Adler is still smoking pot, although as far as anyone is aware he is not doing anything else at the sober house. And model Amber Smith is still trying to kick her drinking, though I don’t think she’ll make it. In fact, I’d put money on Adler and Smith not making it, from what I’ve seen.

But obviously, we hope for the best.
