Danny Bonaduce Bodyslammed On Celebrity Championship Wrestling - CMT - Hulk Hogan’s Celebrity Championship Wrestling
When your acting career is going down the crapper, it’s time to find your way to reality TV shows. That’s what “Dangerous” Danny Bonaduce has done, creating his own wacko series where he injected himself (don’t try this at home!) with ‘roids and then became The Incredible Hulk, wreaking destruction all over his family, until he had none.
It’s somewhat ironic that Bonaduce found his way to Hulk Hogan’s new show, since Hogan has had about the same amount of luck as Danny when it comes to parading your family around on a reality TV show and keeping it intact. But Danny is a Hulkamaniac and so are most of the other contestants, which means they will do just about anything to please the Hulkster. Welcome to Hulk Hogan’s Celebrity Championship Wrestling!
Bonaduce did have a nice run on the show until yesterday, until Hogan had enough of him being late to work and not working hard enough on his craft, which is mostly an act, except as the Hulkster himself points out, can get you seriosuly injured if you aren’t paying attention. Bonaduce wasn’t…and as a result had been fighting a bad back most of the series.
Bonaduce wasn’t the only one hurting, however. Several “stars” have gone home complaining of pain, including all of the women on the show. Dustin “Screech” Diamond was actually thought to have had a broken rib during the filming of the show and even with all his injuries is still in contention for the prize.
The premise of the show is a bunch of has-beens (Screech and Dennis Rodman included) learn something new every week try to basically pummel each other with it (fists, open hand, a cookie sheet, a chair or a table) in order to win a prize!
Included in the “all-star” cast are the two I mentioned, Butterbean, Todd “Willis from Different Strokes” Bridges (the cast mates still remaining) and the others who have already been eliminated, like Frank Stallone, Trishelle “The Real World” Panatella, Tiffany and a slew of other stars you’ve seen on other reality TV shows.
The prize the actors are gunning for is the CCW championship belt, which Screech can put above his many Emmys he won for his work in Saved By The Bell. Heh. Or his “other” work. Ha! Funny how he doesn’t mention THAT work to Hogan. If he did, Hogan would probably body-slam him off-camera and warn him to stay away from his daughter Brooke.
Actually I think Todd Bridges has an excellent shot at winning the belt, although Diamond plays the villain to a T. Bridges may just be a better actor. Whatever way this goes, it’s been an interesting look into one of the most dangerous sports on the planet.
