It’s official: Coolio’s kids are a hit. Sort of. It’s more like they need to be hit with a reality paddle. Even so, we haven’t seen this much entertainment from a family since The Osbournes! They bitch and moan about everything, are lazy as hell, and basically enjoy getting under daddy Coolio’s skin!

They get more than most kids (spacious house, a car to share and other amenities like BlackBerrys, laptops) and still they complain! What’s their problem? In the last episode his only son Artis (18 years old) gets a temp gig with a Hispanic TV studio and is fired within 30 minutes of being hired. Amazingly enough, it had nothing to do with Artis entering phone numbers of prospective agency clients into his BlackBerry.

While Coolio’s youngest, 15 year old Jackie is still young, his other two daughters, moody 20-year-old Artisha and hyper 19-year-old Brandi are the catalysts in the house, pulling pranks on Dad and setting a not-so-good example for little Jackie. Artis seems to run his own show so the girls don’t bother him all that much, but he is by far the laziest of the bunch.

The one thing that stands out about this show is that the kids are lazy and Coolio has a hard time controlling them. That may have to do with the fact that Coolio admittedly wasn’t around much while they were growing up, but it may also have to do with them being spoiled.

For example, the kids wanted a car and so they moseyed over to the Mercedes dealer. After receiving sticker shock Coolio determined the kids needed something cheaper, so he came home with a used Toyota Camry. Were the kids grateful? Aw, hell no! Instead they poked fun at the car Daddy bought and called it the “CMR,” because the A and Y were missing from the front lettering of the vehicle.

So what we have here is a failure to communicate! Coolio is now trying to make up for all the lost time (his four kids are almost all adults now, except for 15-year-old Jackie) he spent chasing money and ladies, living in a “Gangster’s Paradise.”

He’s also in the midst of a midlife crisis, which means he is now realizing he cannot rap forever to make ends meet. To that end he’s decided to open a catering business, referring to himself as the “Ghetto Gourmet” and bringing that swagger to a dinner for 24 guests hosted by a real estate mogul, for example.

The only problem is the kids have been dragged into the business as well…if they wanna continue seeing any money from their Daddy. And they aren’t entering it willingly, as you can see from the pictures above. Coolio even forces them to wear a company uniform. Hilarious. But you know the kids will have something in store for him.
